Micrologic suffered a minor setback this week for its plans to build a 40 meter mast on its site in Beaumont, to provide high speed broadband for the whole of the Tendring peninsular.

Tendring District Council has requested that an environmental impact study must be carried out at the site, before any planning consent could even be considered.

Iain Greenwood, Managing Director of Micrologic has stated that this will only cause a small delay and that the environmental impact study will be completed by approximately 4th February 2011.

The broadband that will be available from Micrologic once the mast has been built will differ from other providers as it will be capable of synchronous upload and download speeds. What this means is that a 1Mb connection would be more than capable of flawless multichannel VOIP due to the low latency and symmetric nature of the network.

Imagine the possibilities with a connection with up to 10 times that.
